At TendWell, our passion is to empower ideas that uplift and strengthen communities. Below are the active projects we are proud to empower today:
Tendwell clinic
TendWell Clinic in Portland, Oregon offers inclusive, OHP-covered care for trauma recovery, chronic illness, and neurological support. Our team mirrors our diverse patient community—primarily queer, trans, neurodivergent, and disabled practitioners. We partner with top doctors and specialists to make advanced therapies affordable through OHP, sliding scale, scholarships, and trade, ensuring high-level care is accessible to every body.
Peer Support
Our Peer Support & Community-Based Mental Health program offers something different — a grassroots alternative to traditional mental health systems, designed by and for people with lived experience of trauma, madness, queerness, chronic illness, disability, and survival. Whether you’ve been let down by the system or never felt safe enough to reach out for help, you’re not alone — and you deserve support that meets you where you are.
Rumble Collective
Rumble Collective is a volunteer-run collective and event space working to foster accessible community-building across identity and class lines. We believe in the currency of interconnection and that growing stronger networks of support requires more than material resources to thrive. Our space hosts a variety of skill shares, classes, and events open to the public at no cost. Our "commons on a calendar" includes events such as Death Cafes, Spanish Conversation Potlucks, Art Jams, Mindfulness Skill Shares, and much more.
Food as Medicine
The Nutrition Education Program we empower patients through nutrition education & resources to help increase access to fresh, nourishing and culturally relevant food. We recognize nourishment on a mind, body, spirit level & focus on meeting patients where they are at.
Hear Together
Providing access to acupuncture of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community in the greater Portland, Oregon region. There are significant barriers to holistic health care for this community – the primary one is language. TendWell Nonprofit is the only holistic medical clinic focused on providing equitable access to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community with funding supporting Professional Certified American Sign Language Medical Interpreting.
Watsu Water Therapy
Watsu is multidimensional somatic work that is practiced in a warm water pool. You are held and supported by your practitioner. Floats are placed under your knees, and at times, noodles and head floats may also be used to support the person. The pool is heated up to 93/94 degrees. We use gentle stretches twists and joint rotations to loosen your body mind. Watsu is based on Zen shiatsu and has grown into its own unique therapy that involves being present with what arises.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Providing access to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Our specialized chambers gradually increases pressure while breathing 96% medical grade oxygen. One of our chambers is 60 inches in diameter, allowing you to bring a friend. We are committed to making HBOT affordable and accessible. We work with insurance and on a sliding scale.
